Story

Every year in the Kingdom of Lanova, the Council of Magic holds the Chaos Trials, a gauntlet of magical challenges put forth by its strongest members. Contestants that successfully complete all of the challenges and demonstrate superior wizardry earn the right to become a Wizard of Legend!

Local Co-op

Grab a friend and tackle the Chaos Trials together in Wizard of Legend's couch co-op mode! Jump head first into the action in an all out offensive or strategically equip your wizards with spells and items that compliment each other's playstyle. The battle is not over when your friend is downed in battle. Defeat multiple enemies in a display of skill to grant your partner a chance to rejoin the battle!

Definitely one of the best top down roguelike "shooters". I say shooter, because alot of the spells are casted skill shots.

When comparing this with Enter the Gungeon, both are really similar. Different biomes with different enemy types. Here however, there is some interaction with spell types(fire,water,electricity etc.)

There are tons of spells and 'relics' (those passive items enter the gungeon and many other roguelikes have). Customization is a thing here and there are "upgrades" you can buy for the next run. No, it is not a positive loop situation, these upgrades wont stack like Roguelegacy, but they give you more starting options and will be pretty much your basic playstyle. So unlike enter the gungeon, there are ways to increase your success chance on each run and more importantly, maintain your style. This and the solid controls (played on xbox controller) make the game easier to master.

Easier because the game is still hard. It focuses on replayability. However it does feel more randomized than Gungeon, so some lesser encounters will remind you of Diablo 3 on hardest... unfair g@n9 B@n9

If you are familiar and enjoy this type of game, it will be kind of short. I played 12 hours before acquiring the majority of the spell options and defeating all 4 basic bosses. The key is finding your style and sticking with it.

Some people mention health being an issue here, but I feel this comes from people who have not played Nuclear Throne, Enter the Gungeon or Dead Cells. Wizard of Legend, allows for intense customization and while some of it is random, there are defense builds that make your character quite tankish and others that favor glasscannon.

Some builds are based on kiting and others on heads on combo. My build for example, favors glasscannon with kiting, so i usually die fast, however, i play with very few spells and alot of dashing, so controls are tight and not numerous. This "personal playstyle" is definitely the highlight here, something very few intense roguelikes allow players to maintain through their runs.. Its a great game full of hidden spell combos and weird builds. Its a great game for two friends to coop in.. we need mutiplayer. Wizard of Legend is basically based on a dungeon game. However, this game consists of many beatiful things too which make you happy when playing the game. Therefore, this game can easily diffirentiate itself in other dungeon games. For instance, you can fight creatures with different spells you don't need to use same spell every round when you enter the dungeon. moreover, you can enhance your spells or add new spells in your spell book by using shops and npcs in the dungeon. Also, gameplay is very fast.Thus, you can play this game before your meeting, class or when waiting your friends in lobi. To sum up, if you love to rogue-like games, you should buy it.. This game is essentially Avatar: The Last Air Bender: The Game. This is one of the best games I own. It's insanely fun, especially for two people.

My wife (who's not a gamer) is always asking to play this with me and we always have a great time. It's incredibly challenging, but also very skill-based. Nothing feels cheap (for the most part).

If you love finely tuned, fast paced action, or Avatar, definitely buy this game. The devs have been supporting it with free updates since launch, adding new costumes, a new boss, abilities, etc. so it's more than worth your money to support them.. The only thing this gem lacks is online co-op.. This indie game has excellent gameplay, however does not have much story. You will constantly die trying to get through the dungeons and thats fine because thats suppose to happen. But if you want a quick game or quick multiplayer game where you can just dive in and try to complete the stages then this is the game for you.. No need to wait for a sale. Wizard of Legend is incredibly fun. The first game I played that really puts mages in the spotlight. If you've played this class in RPGs and always wanted to be the star of the show, this game is for you!

One thing though: Get the clarity mod for this game. It lets you see what relics (passive upgrades) do. Should have been in the game from the start IMO, to allow for more strategy without trial and error.. Loved it!!!. The combat and combos is just as spectacular and fluid as it looks like in the trailers. Amazing roguelike
