Why can't South East Asians Have Natural Blonde hair?

First of all, we can (meaning there are chances. People can change their hair color in the salon) and we do have a few natural blondes.

There is this uncommon thing in Indonesia and everywhere else, called Albino, and they are NATURAL BLONDE. Sometimes in Indonesia, people who are albino are called bule. The term “bule” is usually used for caucasian people and it means albino. And people with albino conditions are often called bule.

And then, my paternal cousin was born goldy blonde, brown eyes and bright pink-ish skin. He is not albino. My eyes are brown too but darker than him. My cousin’s hair gets darker when he grew up, but still not really black like mine and the typical Indonesian’s hair. Nowadays his hair would be clearly seen as blonde under the sunlight outdoor.

And his hair would be seen as chocolate (like salon colored) indoor. And it’s natural. When he was in school, he was interrogated many times by discipliner teachers who assumed that he changed his hair color which students shouldn’t do according to the rules. He could pass as a white/caucasian baby when he was a baby. But now he could pass as Italian, Turkish, greek or Palestinian, or Lebanese.

And then, in the Dieng plateau, there are ANAK GIMBAL (Gimbal Children). They look like this.

This is superstitious. These kids are native to the land of dieng (2010 meters above sea level on mount merbabu) and they are believed to be unfortunate for the family, stronger than other kids, and more immune to diseases. Gimbal means the hair which looks like Bob Marley’s Hair. But bob marley’s hair was black. Gimbal children’s hair is always blonde.

Their gimbal hair is a manifestation and sign that they’re different than other children. Their hair shouldn’t be cut before they’re 7–10 years old, or these kids will be sick until their hair grows as long as pre-cuttings. And when they’re older, they will have the desire to cut it, and they will tell their parents. And the cuttings should be with the ceremony of Ruwatan Gembel in front of Arjuna Temple. And then their hair will grow black and straight like everybody else and those children will be normal.
