While there were no performance issues for me, I find the game to be a disappointment. I am keenly interested in this subject matter and looked forward to playing this game but it is not an accurate simulation. In the Coral Sea campaign, my forces sank the Japanese carriers with naval gunfire. Aircraft were a non factor. The Battle of the Coral Sea was notable for being the first naval battle in which the opposing fleets never came within sight of each other. Later on during the Midway campaign, one of the Japanese carriers bombarded Midway Island with its guns.
Some players may enjoy Strategic Mind as a game, but for me the aforementioned inaccuracies are too much.. It is an interesting and fun turn tactics game.
It uses a hex-grid map. There is weather (rain\/clear, day, night) that affects units. There are points used to buy upgrades for units, purchase units, and units can level up during missions from experience to gain special traits. Finally, some of your units carry over into the next mission in the campaign (they are green instead of yellow), so make sure you protect those green units!
It is similar to other games of the genre - the one that always comes to my mind is super robot wars.
Each mission takes a few hours, and it took me about 10 hours to finish the campaign, which for now (a few days after early release) I think is only 3 increasingly harder and longer missions on USN side: Coral Sea, Midway\/Alaska (a weird design choice for this) and Guadalcanal.
For the early release I recommend the game if you like turn based tactics. At least 10 hours of entertainment for $15, and with a high replay value. I personally will hold of on that until more scenarios are added to the game.
Sure there are some AI script issues\/bugs, User Interface issues (probably overlooked and easy to fix\/remedy - like, where do I see how many squadrons fit in this carrier, or is there an easy way to see which units haven't moved\/acted this turn yet?), and balance issues, but they are not game breaking - I have not experienced any issues that make the game unplayable. Hopefully the devs will take the feedback given and improve upon the game, as there is a lot of potential here.. cool strategy game about naval battles!.

◥⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙◤. When the full version release in the future. Do I still need to pay for the full version again?. A decently made game, but have some serious flaws for particular kind of players.
And unfortunately I'm one of them.
The devs have officially confirmed that they will make destroyers unkillable by aircrafts, presumably some other units, too, as a designed feature.
In other words, you will not be able to reenact historical battles like Midway and Coral Sea, where all combat were done by aircrafts, and the fleets never entered gunnery range to engage each other. Because the devs decided that your planes cannot kill some particular kinds of ships.
As a very fundamental game-changing element of WWII, the importance and dominance of air power in naval warfare cannot be stressed enough. Sadly, in almost all video games they are significantly nerfed to give way to the more "traditional" way of attack, namely gunnery and torpedo warfare. It surprises me that even for a single player game like this one, where balancing shouldn't be an issue (since we no longer have to make ships equal), devs here are still obsessed with nerfing carriers to give way to others.
For this reason, despite it being pretty well made and I can see the efforts of the devs, I still cannot recommend this game.. game is super fun and something i have been looking forward for a long while now.. They played strategy before it became mainstream. Although this is the "early access" Strategic Mind is a very good game.
I like the idea of the game, the story is our future. Strategic Mind: The Pacific is a step-by-step strategy whose events unfolded during World War II and demonstrate with striking historical accuracy the confrontation between the United States and the Japanese Empire in the Pacific Ocean.
The game will be very popular with those who love military themes and sea battles.
The game is fully localized. Good graphics, excellent soundtrack
I liked her a little bit, and every minute she's in the game, she's dragging you on even more. And the best part is good optimization of the game at the start, nothing lies down and does not slow down.
I have not noticed any drawbacks.
I wish the developers to continue to develop their favorite game and conquer the tops.
. I liked the game, just suitable for lovers of military subjects and sea battles. Step-by-step strategy is what you need. Models of ships and aircraft look realistic. Ships and other combat units can be improved and improved from mission to mission. Sounds of battle and music are also selected perfectly. The story company is based on historical events.
Disadvantage: when playing in window mode, the cursor does not extend beyond the window, which does not allow minimizing, moving, and hiding the window with the game.
