This is the eternal struggle, but where there's a will there's a way.

First of all it always fades in time. The bigger issue is keeping the gold and yellow tones at bay. They always arrive and are trying to take over if you've bleached over darker hair.arrive and are trying to take over if you've bleached over Darker Hair.

An easy thing to do is to get some gold-toned conditioner from the beauty supply, Ion makes one, and add some temporary gold tones until the silver/grey color is gone. This will balance out that over greying effect. This pretty much works instantly but don't overdo it because usually hair gets brassy on its own and you don't want to have to bleach cap the gold tones out. If it comes to that, it comes to that, but it's better to treat bleached hair delicately. Invest in Olaplex and add it to every harsh chemical you put on your head. Another option that also works instantly is to go ahead and do a bleach cap. This is bleach, developer and conditioner mixed together, put on the overturned parts of your hair for about 15 minutes. This will remove the excess violet (grey) tones however it's almost 100% guaranteed you will have to tone it again and you run the risk of having the exact same problem with more damage. If you use Wella toners and your hair is at a level 9 or higher, don't leave them on for the full time recommended. They are essentially made like permanent hair color and are really strong. I usually use Wella toner after a fresh root bleaching leaving it on the roots for longer than the ends. In fact, I only pull it through the ends for the last 5 minutes. To maintain it, I use manic panic ultra violet mixed with a cleansing conditioner.
