The book's origins can be tracked back once again to early 1970s; Helen Schucman first activities with the "internal voice" resulted in her then supervisor, William Thetford, to contact Hugh Cayce at the Association for Study and Enlightenment. The first printings of the guide for circulation were in 1975.
