Anyone successfully implemented a real-time gps tracking app? First of all, it's a long read as it has been a long story. So thanks if you take the time to even read through all of it. Also, i'm not a native English speaker so be merciful about my grammar.
Hi, basically that's the question. I'm looking for some insights from someone experienced in GPS tracking with Ionic on Android. I've been trying to implement a fitness tracking app for bike riding for a long time but i'm unable to get consistent results across android versions. I've tried so many things on my code that now the GPS tracking doesn't work at all so i'm little frustrated.
Ideally the app should work like this: after you press a button it would track your live coordinates on background and foreground and measure things like distance traveled, live speed, average speed, orientation, etc until you press the "stop" button. Then it would show you a resume of your trip and send all the data to the backend to check the measurements and render a mapbox based on all the coordinates of the trip. All of this is currently working but the core feature (the GPS tracking) is the thing messing with everything.
You most likely know that your phone can pinpoint your location using GPS for navigation, local search, accurate weather forecasting, and so on. So that I can always find my phone or just where I am, I decided to download myself free geolocation apps. So I'll make sure I'm not struggling in the city
