How To Enable Bridge Mode In Airport Extreme?

Airport extreme is one of the best working routers available in the market. Apple Airport extreme can be paired with any router to extend the range of the Wi-Fi network. Then, you can connect multiple devices to your router and access the full speed internet. Airport extreme is one of the reliable setup for your home network. However, Airport extreme does not extend network with the routers of other company. However, you can use the Airport extreme and Airport extreme bridge mode. The bridge mode is one of the most important feature which turns off the internet routing of the Airport. If you enable this, the other features and settings will remain the same. It will take care of the advance routing features and disable the features of Network Added Translation. Let’s have a look at the steps to enable configure bridge mode of the router.

Steps to enable bridge mode in Airport extreme:

• Create the name and password for your wireless network.
• Then, go to the top of the screen and select the Airport utility icon.
• Now, click on the wireless option.
• Then, select the base station tab.
• You would be required to create a new username and password for the base station tab.
• You can connect the printer or any other device by clicking on the printer icon.
• Now, click on the update icon and then restart the base station.
• After the router is rebooted, you can configure the settings of the router.
• Connect your devices and check the bridge connection.

If you face any issue and find no Airport base station found. You can unplug the router and wait for some time to plug the router back. Then, go to Airport utility and select the base station of the router.

Another issue that users face is Apple WiFi router blinking orange. One of the reasons could be internal hardware issue. It can be resolved by a simple process of restarting your device.

Steps to fix blinking orange light on Airport  router:

• Turn off the router and make sure to disconnect all cables attached to it.
• Disconnect the Ethernet cable connecting the router to the modem.
• Wait for a few minutes and then connect all the cables to their specific slots carefully.
• Turn on the router to check if it works.

Apple is known to work a little differently from windows and that’s why sometimes you can face an issue setting up its devices. Here’s how you can find Airport utility. Connect your device to the airport base station and go to settings and then click on Wi-Fi. Then tap on the Info button next to your network name and at last tap Manage. The setup would provide the best network solution for you.
