Airport extreme is one of the best working routers available in the market. Apple Airport extreme can be paired with any router to extend the range of the Wi-Fi network. However, Airport extreme does not extend network with the routers of other company. However, you can use the Airport extreme and Airport extreme bridge mode. The bridge mode is one of the most important feature which turns off the internet routing of the Airport. If you enable this, the other features and settings will remain the same. If you face any issue and find no Airport base station found. You can unplug the router and wait for some time to plug the router back. Then, go to Airport utility and select the base station of the router.
