What are the Eligibility Requirements for a Global Talent Visa?

Your application will be recommended to Arts Council England or Tech Nation if you are applying for endorsement in non-academic fields of arts and culture and digital technology. It has its different endorsement criteria.

These assigned Bodies have two sets of criteria when evaluating an Applicant:

Exceptional Talent criteria - applicants who have already verified that they have made a notable contribution as a leader to their field.
Exceptional Promise criteria - applicants who are new in their careers but have already demonstrated the ability to make substantial contributions as a future leader in their fields.

In Academia or Research:

If you want to qualify in the fields of Science, Engineering, Medicine and Humanities then you have to be an exceptional/emerging talent.

You have to proof/qualify at least one of them-
Have an employment offer as a senior researcher or academic in the UK
Has done or have been part of a research which is recognised by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)
Must have obtained an individual fellowship in the UK

Not have any of these? You can still arrive in the UK but only if your application is endorsed by peer review. In that case, a notable person with internationally recognised expertise in your field should write a letter of recommendation for you.

For Arts and culture:

In arts and culture, you have to demonstrate as an exceptional talent or exceptional promise on one of the following:

Theatre
Visual arts
Combined arts
Dance
Literature
Music

Also, you have to give evidence in one of the following categories:

In the last five years, you have worked continuously in your field and have developed work which is acknowledged internationally and evaluated “outstanding” by the Arts Council England.
For application as a leader in your field: You can prove that your work is well known in at least 2 countries

For Applicants in Digital technology :

In the digital technology sector, in order to be considered as an exceptional talent or exceptional promise, you must -

Have set up or held a senior position in an innovative product-led tech company.
Have worked in an innovative digital field or concept.
Have educated, mentored or taken part in collective projects to support the digital technology sector.
Have also, won awards, having new skills either commercial or technical, during your career or if your research works are published or endorsed by a specialist.
