At first glance, signs of skin cancer often look like a regular mole, but there are a few differences known as the ABCDEs of melanoma. "A" stands for asymmetric, "B" for borders that or notched or scalloped, "C" for multiple colors, "D" for a diameter wider than 6 millimeters, and "E" for the evolution of shape, size, or color. Regular checks at home for the ABCDEs will help you know whether a brown spot on your skin is just a mole or a cause for concern.
