While T5 tubes are more suitable for compact spaces and offer a more comprehensive range of color temperatures, T8 tubes are brighter and more cost-effective in more extensive settings.
An issue known as overlamping can result from using a bulb that exceeds the maximum wattage suggested by your light fixture. Overlamping can be a safety hazard for your home. Two potential problems resulting from the extreme heat produced by overlamping are overheating and damaging the fixture.

For example, 2,950 lumens from a fluorescent tube would be equivalent to approximately 1,947 lumens from an LED tube. High-lumen tubes provide even more light, from where you'll be standing, than a fluorescent tube – even though the fluorescent may be "rated" higher.

ranges from around 1.7 to 2.0 volts for red LEDs to around 2.8 to 4.0 volts for violet LEDs.
Yes they get pretty warm. They operate at 95 degrees F. I run two fans on mine - one at end blowing down length of fixture and one at side blowing across the vent holes in the fixture. While they get quite warm, is is safe and still cooler than the sodium of halide bulbs.
