There is great variability of Android TV boxes, some are complete crap, whereas some are very solid devices. Android TV devices on the other hand offer more flexibility for the DIY guys - you can set up complex streaming configurations.

FireTV is easier for end-users who simply want to watch movies it also comes with a comfortable remote. If you’re not into fiddling with tech and want something that simply works out of the box, take fireTV. (FireTV doesn’t have a lot of storage, so it’s meant for streaming primarily)

The Fire Stick:

Pros: Cheaper, Okay for streaming movies,will not run most apps, the size is just a bit bigger than an USB stick,warranty is by amazon,

Cons: No Ethernet,no storage, need to learn to sideload apps, Need Bluetooth mouse , using 3rd party apps is a pain, No USB Ports

Android Box

Pros: It will run any 3rd App, Kodi, Terrarium etc,. it has more storage, and it is expandable with a SD Card; You can use WiFi and/or Ethernet Cable, it has USB ports, much faster processor and stronger WiFi signal, user friendly

Cons: Just a little more expensive, a little bigger.

The Android TV Box is the clear winner, as it's more versatile.

Personally I would definitely stand for 4k android tv box from Infomir that I have bought recently. The Chromecast built-in feature allows my subscribers to send movies, music and photos to their TVs directly from their mobile devices. That is very easy and handy I should say. I have no regrets at all. Highly recommended
