The Emperor is gone and the Empire rudderless, the balance of power easily swayed to any Underlord that is not 600 feet under. You will now assume the role of rival Underlord, Kasita, and with the mentorship of the deliciously sardonic Mendechaus (voiced by Richard Ridings), you will sate your thirst for wealth and power in the golden and volcanic dukedom of Phaestus.

The word in the Underworld is that Kasita’s heart is a giant gemstone, hewn from the dirt by her prospecting workers. They say molten gold flows through her cavernous, subterranean arteries, and that soon her temper shall erupt in an all-consuming gold rush of greed! Miserly miners beware...

Heart of Gold continues where the story left off, with four earth-shattering new Campaign levels, a smattering of new defences, units and spells, and a gleaming new Dungeon Theme!

• An expanded story told across four brand new, fully voice acted Campaign levels, this time played from the perspective of Underlord Kasita. The levels are more open-ended than in the original game, directly addressing feedback from our most loyal players.
  
• An additional four Aspects to master: Sentinel (defence), Gild (spell), Aureate Monolith (construct), and a golden Titan - the Colossus.
  
• A new Dungeon Theme for Kasita, which includes a Dungeon Core, new tiles and walls, a Worker skin, and a much-requested custom Hand of Evil.
  
• New terrain, system overhauls, Map Editor features and much more!

Heart of Gold will release alongside patch 1.4, which will introduce a huge range of changes and improvements to the base game including:

• Dynamic tutorial system

• New unit voices, VFX, animations and behaviours

• New systems such as the peace warband to keep specific units out of combat

The team at Brightrock Games further improve their craft with this carefully designed DLC, which I might add was free for backers and early adopters, though I would have paid money on day one for it anyway.

Some of the challenges and the map design harks back to Dungeon Keeper designs. Fun expansion added some fun things, campaign is fun. And feels a bit different from the orriginal campaign, with a more of a \\"rewarding feel if you go the extra mile\\" attached to it. I bought it and so far did not regret it. :)

Keep rocking and keep shining.. BUY IT! ......Hours of fun!. A DLC done to a GOLDEN standard. Ok puns aside this is a great add on to WTFO, interesting and unique aspects, a campaign with 4 large, open levels (a different direction from the main campaign) and challenging acheivements adding more to the replay value of the campaign. There are a few bugs but I am sure those will be patched quickly. A steam sale is a GOLDEN opportunity to pick this up.. If I had to describe the 4 level campaign with some words it'd be things like "Padded" or "Meh."

Understand I am freshly out of finishing the original campaign, Everything is on my mind still, my skills in dungeoning are tuned up yet the levels in this expansion still took me almost an hour to complete for each of them, it seriously felt like everything was just double what it should have been. Oh 12 objectives? 6 would have been better.

It really feels bad to play this campain right after the base games, none of the levels did anything different between each other like in the base game, though it tried, it really tried. I can't lie and say I wasn't having fun, but if we said my fun with the base game was a 10, than this had my fun at like a 3.

It brings some small additions to the game, most notably the titans and the gold knights. The titans being painfully easy to summon and the gold knights actually being pretty awesome.

The titans are basically at the end of the Sin Tree, they cost 3 sin and then you place down its egg and it summons 5 minutes later. That's it. Not all that fun. Nothing game changing, if anything it might have broken balance to have such overpowered entities added at all.

The golden knights cost a lot of gold to construct, and cost a lot of gold to pay. They have 0 needs and they are fairly strong. I like them honestly, they remind me of skeletons from past games with similar setups, except where the skeleton was like a budget soldier the golden knights are like super soldiers.

Any other changes are minor and forgetable, and I just wish they took more time with the campaign. I still had fun and I guess I recommend it because ultimately if you enjoyed the base game you will enjoy this.. So happy they made this game. So like DK made by bullfrog back in the day. WAITED FOR THIS GAME :D:D:D:D. Pacing in the mini-campaign was better than in the main campaign of WFTO.

And hey, all this shiny was awesome, including a chance to don the opulent theme of Kasita which is only available to high-tier Kickstarter backers outside the campaign of this DLC.

I particularly loved a mission where you make a big amount of gold to forge a new Titan.<\/span><\/span>
