Ultrasonic Pest Control -- Why Are there Still Questions?

Ultrasonic bug control devices have been around for 30 years or more. For pretty much that whole time, scientists have been testing them to determine whether the claims created by the manufacturers and marketers are accurate. Fast forward 30 years to today. Scientists have still not gotten to verify that these devices are advertised. Yet the claims remain.

Testimonials for electronic bug control products seem quite polarized. Many appear to say these products are remarkable and the best thing since bar-b-q sauce. A great many others express their frustration that these products simply don't act on all. Very few testimonials fall at the center.

What's the truth of the matter? As a long-time bug control business owner, I decided to find out. With the help of the internet I searched far and wide for studies from legitimate university researchers. Surprisingly, back as far as 25 years are currently available on the internet. These studies tested many different ultrasonic bug repellers under a variety of conditions against many different unwanted pests.

Used to do not use research from labs that were not associated with a legitimate university. I didn't select the research. I recently found what was available. My goal was to Best Spider Repellents simply find the truth and present information for anyone to see. A link to the complete article is below.

What I found is that manufacturers rarely sponsor testing of their own devices. Not surprising because quality research can be expensive. I also found out that there are a number of different types of devices. Humans hear in the 20-20, 000Hz range. Ultrasonic devices broadcast frequencies above what humans can hear. Subsonic devices broad cast below the normal hearing of humans. Some electronic bug control devices plug into the electric enterprise entrance and claim to use the electrical wiring to deter unwanted pests.

In 2001 the Federal Trade Commission informed manufacturers of these devices that they should have scientific evidence to support any claims of effectiveness or performance. In 2003 they decided to require such evidence from manufacturers.

Common sense says that if ultrasonic bug repellers were effective, 2 things would happen. First, they would have an effect on the bug control industry. That has never happened even though they have been around for 30+ years. The second thing which should occur is that a fair number of individuals would be using these products and telling their friends about them. Of all the people I know, undertake and don't are using they. And I've never heard, even once, from anyone I know that they had tried they and found them effective. How about you?
