The SD70 Volume 2 add-on includes SD70 ACe, SD70MAC and SD70M-2 versions of this modern US freight hauler for Train Simulator.


The SD70 series of diesel locomotives, launched by the General Motors Electromotive Division in 1992, have become a familiar sight across the length and breadth of the United States, with over 4,000 of the different variants having been produced to date. This add-on includes 3 main variants: the SD70MAC, with AC traction motors, the SD70ACe also with traction motors but developed to comply with new emissions regulations, and the SD70M-2 which is based on the SD70ACe but which has DC traction motors. This add-on depicts the various external detail differences between the models including the ‘Whisper Cab’, and depicts them in realistic prototypical BNSF, Norfolk Southern and Canadian National color schemes. This add-on is a great companion for the SD70ACe add-on, also available on Steam, allowing you to build a superb diesel fleet in Train Simulator.

Great DLC! Although it would be better if the lights were actually casted and water would spot the windows in the rain.. **DO NOT BUY AT FULL PRICE**
I would only buy this if it is on sale or if you just want the locos. This pack is very buggy and is very unpolished. Becaused this was released back in 2012, it has a lot of the problems that plagued many of RSC's (The previous developer) problems which I will present in a Pro\/Con format.

Pro:
-You get a lot of locomotives

Cons:
-Stretchy couples
-No numberboard lights
-Windows and doors inoperable
-No ND units (This is were you have the option to put the same loco when you put a consist together but with out a driver in the cab)
-No interior lighting (DO NOT USE ANY OF THESE LOCOS AT NIGHT YOU WONT SEE ANYTHING!)
-No step lights
-Incorrect engines sounds, bells and horns. Both the EMD SD70MAC & EMD SD70ACE included in this pack share the same engine sounds, bell, and horn of the EMD SD75M and Union pacific SD60M.
-Dynamic Brakes do not work properly
-No water effects on windshield, no need for wipers basically.
-No Dynamic Headlight effect (Basically this effect is where you can see the train engine's headlight from far away. For example the headlights found on the, F59PHI, F59PH, SD60M, Amtrak Dash 8-Bwh, P42DC... etc.

Overall: Do not buy at full price. The pack lacks a lot of the advanced details that some of the other DLCs have. The locos are very buggy and don't run too well. (They are runable but avoid nighttime because you won't see very well.) Since Dovetail games owns Train Sim, I doubt this pack or any other DLC that was release by RSC will ever get fixed.

Score 2.5\/10 NEEDS TO BE UPDATED. good content but no career games on shawman hill for the sd70 ace. GREAT DLC HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Although the models of the SD70 locomotives have been beautifully detailed, there are a few downsides of these engines.First,the headlights on all of the engines cast barely any to no light at all,resulting in not being able to see at night or in tunnels.There is a similar problem from inside the cab,the light in the cab doesn't work,so good luck to you if you only use the controls from inside the cab while in a tunnel\/at night.The panel with the speed infront of the engineer's seat has multiple instruments not working, ten instruments have "N\/A" as a response.Last, though this doesn't have much of an impact towards my thought of the locomotive pack,I've noticed that when it rains, there are no drops on the windshield.I would only recommend this DLC if I knew that the developer would continue working on it, but I'm not sure if that person will.
