The diesel-electric Class 68, initially built between 2013 and 2014 for Direct Rail Services, was derived from the Eurolight family of locomotives and known as the UKLight by manufacturer Vossloh.

An order of 15 locomotives was placed by DRS in January 2012 for use on passenger and intermodal operations around the UK, the first locomotive to be built, 68001 Evolution was sent to the Czech Republic for extensive testing of its power and reliability. The first to enter the UK, 68002 Intrepid arrived in January 2014.
DRS mainly use their new locomotives to haul container freight services, however their signed agreement between themselves and Venice-Simplon Orient Express sees Class 68s hauling the Northern Belle service from time to time.

With 3800 horsepower, a top speed of 100mph and a hefty weight of 85 tons, the ultra-modern Class 68 is a perfect example of a mixed traffic locomotive, being able to haul heavy freight loads and perform mainline passenger services with ease.

The Train Simulator British Rail Class 68 is available in ScotRail Saltire Livery and recreates the locomotive as it operates today for ScotRail over Edinburgh - Glasgow. The pack also includes appropriate Mk2e coaches in ScotRail Saltire livery as well as a trio of challenging and engaging career scenarios for the route.

I been check my career there nothing download? I be download done try get in nothing in career!. Ok, to start, I can say the train is decent, to say the least, but it currently serves little purpose, which i'll state why later.

The Class 68's runs pretty well, although I do think the sounds are a little too quiet on the engine. As for the MK2e coaches, the coach numbers are COMPLETELY wrong (I've edited my number files to change them), and if i'm not mistaken Abellio Scotrail only use the TSO's and BSO's (based off of their current formations)


Now, the reason why this serves little purpose is the route DTG decided to include this for pretty much only lets the 68 properly run between Haymarket and Edinburgh, since they're used on the Peak Hour Fife Circle services. Other that that, routewise, WCML North is the only other route where they run on (when they run ECS from Motherwell\/Mossend to Edinburgh via Carstairs)

Overall, I give this a 10\/17. brakes are beyond bad,its the only thing that lets it down!. Totally OPAC winshield from cab view.

I have referred this to the repair shop.....will give it 5 stars if fixed..

OK, I have attached 3 sets of views one inside the cab and the other outside (sorry can't post here). You can see the difference in clarity of each set. This was the Koblenz=Glasco QD from Glasco
This happens on all scenarios and routes: others are observing the same views.
I think the problem is that the whole inside win shield is OPAC instead of just the view outside the wipers range were the rain drops are. This area should be opac but were the wipers operate it should be clear.
I have used other engines were the win shield wiped area is clear but the area beyond the wipers range has rain drops and is opac.

PS: It is a very nice engine!. This loco has a very detailed cab and the sounds are brill
