Since its inception around 1988, "Madden" has established itself as one of the biggest video game franchises on earth. Fans have witnessed football games like "Tecmo Bowl", "NFL Blitz" and "NFL Street," rise in popularity over the years. There isn't a single game that has been in the same league like the "Madden" franchise.

This is also the second consecutive time Mahomes is featured on his cover in the last three years, since the Chiefs signal-caller was the star of the cover in "Madden 20."
