Ben McGewan has a deal with Chinatown's non-Chinese gang boss, Gregory, to steal one of four mythical god statues reputed to give immense power. This theft, in exchange for wiping out his debt and a fortune to pay his team of frustrated experts. They organize a wild after hours party in a nightclub as cover to break into the vault of the bank next door. Alas, from the start things go wrong ever worse, for everyone.
A crook quietly plots his revenge against the boss who murdered his brother while working for him.
I saw this film by accident. I was ready not to watch it if it turned out to be a dud, but I enjoyed it as it is fast paced, smart and generally well executed.

I can actually think of dozens if not hundreds of bad films, albeit with big time talent in them, that were not worthy of theatrical release... and this one goes straight to video??? Were it not for someone else renting it I'd probably never seen it.

Maybe the biggest problem of this film is it's title "Stark Raving Mad".

With straight to video release and not the most imaginative title being it's only problems, this film is actually very good and certainly worth watching.

If you liked "Go" or "Pulp Fiction" or "Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" you'll like this one too. Rent it and you won't regret it. 6.9? 6.-blanking-9 for this garbage? I rented this last night and it was SOOOOO bad, I had to make an entry.

It's not the acting. There are some talented folks in here. (Scott, Foley, Arkin aren't bad. Phillips is, well, Phillips.) It MIGHT be the editing, which about threw ME into an epileptic fit.

No, it's the script! Who could have read this and said, "Wow what a great concept. Let's do a heist movie against the backdrop of a (non-alcoholic, non-drugged out) Rave?" Oh, oh, and I know, let's use a funny Canadian guy as an FBI agent, and let's NOT hide his accent at all. (You know what I'm talking aboot, don't you?) And how did these guys set up a bust at an after-hours thing that normally would never have happened? Should have ICED the pizza guy.

ONLY way this movie should be watch is apparently on X so you can appreciate the cuts and lighting effect.
