Counseling services are available to all vanguard university students currently enrolled in undergraduate, graduate or professional studies programs.

On average, students wrap up services within four to eight sessions with their counselor. If you are a concordia student seeking personal counseling, please visit our office or call to make an appointment with one of our counselors. Counseling services are available to currently registered students, and referral services are available to faculty and staff.

The EMDR counseling center grieves with the rest of the towson university community regarding the racially motivated violence that has continued to occur across our country. These tragedies, along with voter suppression and racial terrorism, reflect a longstanding and entrenched history of structural and systemic injustice that we condemn and are dedicated to addressing. We also recognize that these tragedies may be especially injurious to members of our black and african american community. The debilitating psychological effects of centuries of racial oppression cannot be underestimated.

If a situation occurs in which a student is a danger to himself/herself or others, we might take steps that go beyond confidentiality in order to help keep this student safe. Other exceptions could involve child or adult abuse, serious threats towards others, and/or court involvement. These exceptions to confidentiality are situations that do not occur very often. You can expect that every effort will be made to protect the information you have shared with us. The counselor is required to keep notes and a record of your counseling process. These records are kept in a locked file cabinet at the counseling center.
