Strong tight end class might tempt Saints in this year's NFL Draft

At first glance, the New Orleans SaintsChaz Green Authentic Jersey could feel set in their current group of tight ends.
Coby Fleener is entering his second season with the Saints and Sean Payton expressed confidence Fleener's 2017 campaign should be more consistent. The Saints also appear to have depth there with Josh Hill and Michael Hoomanawanui returning to the team after injuries sidelined both players in 2016.
The Saints even brought back veteran John Phillips and carry youngsters Jake Stoneburner and Garrett Griffin on the roster.
So why would the Saints consider drafting Karl Joseph Jersey a tight end? The same reason the Saints selected Jimmy Graham in 2010 even though they employed veterans like Jeremy Shockey and David Thomas.
The prospects might be too good to pass up at certain points in the draft.
Players like Alabama's O.J. Howard, Miami's David Njoku and Ole Miss' Evan Engram are just the start of a very impressive tight end crop entering this year's NFL Draft. Another passing option for Drew Brees within the offense, especially given his rapport with tight ends, could convince the Saints to nab one at some point.
Plus, taking a tight end might make more sense than you would imagine despite the gaggle of players already on the roster.
Fleener may technically hold four morehttp://www.authenticraiderssale.com/shop-by-players-reggie-nelson-j... years left on his contract. As like many contracts, the length of Fleener's deal is more deceiving than it may appear. Fleener could be on the chopping block if he doesn't perform better than in 2016. He would only carry $4.8 million in dead money spread over the final three years of the deal if the Saints release him after this year.
Hoomanawanui only has one year left on his contract after missing all of last season with a leg injury he sustained in preseason. So thehttp://www.authenticsaintsshop.com/shop-by-players-max-unger-jersey... Saints could potentially need two tight ends next offseason.
Throw all of those factors together and the Saints may be open to drafting a tight end in less than two weeks.
