Star Trek meets The Dirty Dozen in this exciting new Star Trek series about a group of rogues, rebels, and outcasts who find themselves faced with the greatest threat the Federation has ever encountered. With Admiral Chekov (Walter Koenig) heading up Starfleet Intelligence and Tuvok (Tim Russ) a part of Starfleet's clandestine Section 31 organization, they recruit Captain Lexxa Singh (Adrienne Wilkinson) and her rogue crew to do those missions that no one else can or will do. When the Federation is threatened and Starfleet protocol won't work, it is up to this rag-tag group of Renegades to save them all.
Set a decade after the U.S.S Voyager's return to Earth, a rag-tag crew of renegades and outcasts must covertly work with Admiral Chekov and Tuvok to stop forces threatening the Federation from outside, and within.
I greatly enjoyed this feature. The storyline was compelling. The sets and special effects were gripping. But the level of acting was excellent and brought this feature a lot of legs. Wilkinson was especially compelling with her sad back story, tough wronged warrior but still having a moral compass character. It was also good to see some of the Star Trek regulars reprising their original roles. What can I say about Walter Koenig? I loved seeing him playing Chekov again (and on Star Trek Phase 2 as well) and its about time he's an Admiral with seeming connections to Section 31 too.

I highly recommend this feature - entertaining, gripping, and thought provoking.

In terms of how the renegades got back to Earth so quickly - they entered a temporary transwarp conduit. If you would see it as the pilot of a studio funded series you would say it has too many fake VFX and greenscreen shots, loads of cheesy acting and a cliché riddled plot. If I were to tell you that it was a fan made film backed by kickstarter made for a lousy 375.000$ you would say very nicely done! They got a lot of big names to commit to this project for no pay I'm guessing. Star Trek celebrities Walter Koenig, Tim Russ and Robert Picardo. And also Sean Young (looks old), Corin Nemec and Edward Furlong (he looks like he died, got out of his grave and went into zombie acting. Man, he looks awful! I took me 5 mins to recognize his corpse). They are going to turn this into a webseries and also try to get CBS to pick it up for a real series but my guess is that won't happen. They would certainly need better writers to come up with a better constructed story, better acting and directing and better VFX. I respect them for this but if this is the future of Star Trek then I don't know...This rogue thing and the style doesn't feel like ST. They will have to up the quality to convince non-geeks to watch. This reminded me too much of Andromeda...
