SFW to design and supply biomass CFB Boiler Island in South Korea

As per the terms of the contract, SFW will design and supply the Daesan biomass power plant boiler island, including the 109MWe CFB steam generator and auxiliary equipment.

“Together with HDEC and our circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) technology, we will help to meet Korea’s energy needs in an environmentally sound manner.”Firing biomass as its primary fuel, the new CFB boiler will be designed to burn wood pellets and meet the required environmental regulatory standards in the region.

The power plant is expected to begin its commercial operations by the end of 2020.

SFW Power Group Asia president Weigang Chen said: “SFW’s CFB biomass technology provides dependable, fuel-flexible energy on-demand which is a big advantage for a renewable energy source.”

SFW has noted that it has supplied more than 30 CFB steam generators in South Korea, and this will be company’s third CFB boiler unit in the country.
