About This Game

Once again players will assume the role of Raz, an intrepid young psychic and now fully fledged member of the Psychonauts — an elite group of international psychic secret agents!

The story picks up exactly where it left off at the end of Psychonauts (2005)—with Raz, Lili, Sasha, Milla, and Coach Oleander flying off to rescue Truman Zannotto, the Grand Head of the Psychonauts. Their mission takes them straight into the heart of the Rhombus of Ruin—a mysterious part of the ocean as deadly as two Bermuda Triangles back to back!

Short VR tour into world of Psychonauts. Amazing stylish visuals, fun puzzles, good dialogues and voice-acting - everything is back except for platforming.
Controls are a bit awkward since they were not initially designed for motion controller, but it's a very minor flaw.. If you played the original Pyschonauts, you should like this. Even if you didn't it still would be quite fun. The Developers took a clever route to handle movement issues with some quite trippy perspectives that made this sure game a joy to play.. An amazing VR campaign, with good visuals, funny jokes, and good nods to the previous cult classic game. I bought the Rhombus of Ruin when it was on sale and loved it. However it is not too long as I completed it in a little over 2 hours. Overall the puzzels were cool and this game was a good expirience for me.. Can't recommend it if I can't really play it. Keeps telling me I'm outside the game area. But since the entire screen is black with nothing but the sign I have no idea where it thinks the game area is. I've recentered and everything. Was able to get it to work for a while once but I can't recommend it when it's got such a terrible solution to being outside the game area. Why black out the entire screen?. Another great moment playing a Double Fine productions. They nailed it with this first VR game. The Psychonauts universe really made sense for this trip into people's mind. You will find all the details that made the first game so exciting: the powers, the humor, the smart ideas, some puzzles and a great music. There is a real story connected to the first game. It is actually nice that you don't really have to move in the environment but just enter minds.
If you liked Psychonauts, don't hesitate and join Raz and the team for this great adventure.. This is one of the best VR adventure games I've yet played. The graphics and environments are sublime. The writing, characters, and voice-acting are contiguous from the original Psychonauts. The puzzling is adequate and fair. The price ($20) is high for a 2-3-hour game.. For fans of Pschonauts it's well worth it but as a stand alone game I would suggest waiting until it's on sale.. Excellent game! Funny, great voice acting, great music, not too hard to solve (except for the baggage car - took me a while). Loved the 60's retro style.

LIke a lot of VR games, a bit short. But well worth playing.. Someone gave this to me as a gift, and being a fan of Psychonauts I was incredibly excited.

The game was incredibly fun...but was basically a puzzle game on rails, definitely not what I expected. I also was disappointed by the length of the game. From start to finish in less than 2 hours.

I definitely recommend the game, especially if you're a fan of Psychonauts already, but for 2 hours of gameplay wait until it's on sale.. This is an entertaining chapter in the saga. It's not as satisfying or long as Psychonauts -- I played at a leisurely pace and finished in 3 hours. Overall, I went in with moderate expectations and I found it worth it.

It has a lot of the same neat ingredients that Psychonauts did, like playing with size differences and mind-bending environments. It's supposed to be played sitting, as much of the time your character is also sitting, but you could get away with standing. Because of those environments, though, I'd recommend sitting. I felt some butterflies in my stomach in some of the scenarios, but the exciting kind, so some may prefer to stand. Sitting also discourages you from straying outside the bounds of the game. I don't mean the steamvr chaperone, I mean the playable game area, which is much smaller. If you do, you get a jarring black screen and a menu message telling you you left the game area. Some limitations are necessary, given that most of the puzzles involve you figuring out how to change your perspective. If you could walk around there would be no point. But it's impossible to resist leaning, twisting, and crouching to try to get a look at the imaginative levels, so this is a common frustration. This is not a seamless port. I think it would have been better to make the warning process more gradual on the PC, using some of Psychonauts' characteristic first-person visual effects.

For some reason they also started pronouncing Milla as "Miya" in this game, so if you played the first game, it may be a little jarring.

The in-game options and help is lacking (or I missed it while I had my headset off sipping a drink.). Most notably, you highlight items and menus by looking at them, and select with a click of the touchpad (on the Vive). To recenter your view in-game, click the left-hand top menu button (again, on the Vive.)
