About This Game

Project Abyss is a pixel-loving 2D survival RPG that takes place in the deepest place on Earth. Using a mixture of realism and fun, you control a diver and mini-submarine as you explore a living world of beautiful and deadly sea life, wreckages and enemy subs. Loot money for upgrades, complete tasks, unlock other submarines, and uncover more of the mystery deep below.

Utilise your equipment in a stylish blend of combat and beautiful aquatic moments, with a great original soundtrack and ambient sounds; we have created a living, breathing underwater world in pixel art graphics, with it's own day/night cycle. Much of the world is destructible, from blowing up wreckage doors with C4, to drilling and torpedoing your way through rock for fuel cells and chests.

• Survive an often brutal world of bosses, turrets, and poisonous plants, filled with lots of sea life to find- including Sharks, Orcas, Whales, Jellyfish, and lots of fish!
  
• Control your submarine with the turbines; as well as claws, weaponry, and drills! #Updated to include simpler submarine controls as an option.

If you are having problems with the controls try the XBox controller.. Controls are TERRIBLE and it's very overpriced. I'd love to play this game, but it's just not possible.. But for the sake of god, I can't play it with these controls. I refunded it and I'll check if they patch in an option for normal controls sometime. It would help the game a lot.. Has a mild learning curve when it comes to the controls, but it's always refreshing to have to learn something new instead of the "same old same old" problem we have with most games released now days. Very nice retro feel, love the zoom feature that allows me to look closer at the detail that you've put into the game! I really enjoy all the little things like the cliche red explosive barrel and crabs, mines, non-aggresive fish, a--hole fish, F-ING WHALES, and the lovely little claws you've added to the submarines! Skill trees are expansive, more than enough for something of this category.

THERE ARE BUGS; BUT THIS GAME WAS MADE BY 3 PEOPLE (I think) So please, give credit were it is due, and please be patient, this game is amazing in its current state. I reccomend this purchase if you are looking for something new, like to explore, and enjoy the sense of accomplishment; because this game defintely brings that to the table!

HAVE FUN DIVERS !!!. Worst controls I've ever seen.. An adorable little exploration/adventure game. The biggest challenge is learning to work with the controls. Project Abyss presents a unique control scheme focused on managing directional thrust in a low gravity environment. It challenges you to navigate along the ocean floor finding treasure, fuel, ammunition, and notes that slowly tell the story of what lies below. It reminds me of Gravitron, however it is much more forgiving in that damage can be repaired for free and you lose nothing on death.

These two factors combine to perhaps take some of the tension out of deep sea exploration. You will spend most of your time making your way from the western edge of each of the 5 map areas to the east, coming up mainly to spend money on upgrades for your sub. The game offers free fast travel to the shop, and respawns you should you run out of fuel or health. Although you have 3 upgrade trees for your submarine, most of the upgrades just give you "more" things. More fuel, more oxygen, more armor, more damage.

At only a few short hours in length and 5 areas to explore, this isn't the largest game around and so the upgrade progression doesn't feel grindy or overdone. Music is lovely, sounds design is good, the game challenges you with bosses, but gives you plenty of tools to make short work of them. The core of it all is a sort of peaceful wreck-diving adventure - like a 2d Subnautica before Subnautica was a thing.

Give it a try.. Im sorry, but this game controls like♥♥♥♥♥♥ even my 360 controllers doesnt work lmao

couldnt even playfrom the start, better play dark souls on high diff.... Nice game, but has some ugly bugs like messed up tech tree with abilities sometimes working sometimes not, broken achievements (completed game 2 times, some of them unlocked on 2nd run, while should be unlocked on 1st), no sound from time to time etc. It was fun to play and complete it, but there is no response from dev and this single final achievement, that I can't get while is real PITA. Project Abyss is the poor man's Diluvion. Not absolutely terrible, but just doesn't feel right at too many places. Additionally, a buggy mess. I really did regret soldiering through this.

Do yourself a favour and just skip out on this entirely.
