* Quarterback Ryan Tannehill looks comfortable wearing the brace on his left knee. He appears to move without restrictions. Wide receiver Jarvis Landry downplayed the knee brace calling it “a little swag.” And adding that, “It hasn’t slowed him down. His recovery process has been tremendous.” ...
The pass rush seemed to enjoy success early in practice but the pass protection improved later. ...
* Tannehill seemed to draw three offsides penalties with his snap count. ...
Landry had a nice touchdown reception from Tannehill in a red zone in 11-on-11 drills soon after safety Reshad Jones had a nice pass breakup on Kenny Stills. ...
* Rookie cornerback Cordrea Tankersley, this year’s third-round pick from Clemson, seems aggressive at the line of scrimmage. ...
* Punter Matt Darr was impressive, http://www.officialbuccaneersshop.com/shop-by-players-bryan-anger-j... placing a high percentage of punts against the sideline or just short of the goal line. ...
The rookies didn’t have logos on their helmets. “Maybe that’s our way of saying, ‘Hey, you’ve got to earn that logo,” coach Adam Gase said. ...
Defensive back Walt Aikens, who has been a safety for the vast majority of his career, has gotten looks at cornerback during OTAs. “We’re just trying to find the right fit for him,” Gase said of Aikens, who has been a core special teams player.
The cornerback picture is crowded, primarily among Byron Maxwell, Xavien Howard, Tony Lippett, Bobby McCain, Lafayette Pitts and Tankersley. Of course, safety is also crowded among primarily among Jones, Michael Thomas, Nate Allen, and T.J. McDonald, who must serve an eight-game suspension to start the regular season.
