Current Situation
Fall protection equipment gear, being classed as Category-III Ppe Singapore, requires annual certification by accredited personnel, as mandated by international regulations
Since most offshore rigs are based in the middle of the ocean and far from land, currently during inspection, either i) inspectors are flown onto the rig (highly costly), or more typically, ii) rig operators send the equipment to be tested onshore for at least a week, disrupting operations meanwhile or having to buy a spare set of each Cert equipment Singapore to continue working (high cost from daily downtime/ spare equipment expense)
