About This Game

Once upon a time, in a small, unremarkable village, there was a timid little boy who didn't have any friends. One day, while playing alone in his bedroom, he was rudely interrupted by a family of dirty rats. Chasing them out of his room, the little boy suddenly found himself lost in a vast, mysterious forest, where he happened upon a magical crown that imbued him with the power to command. The little boy -- with his newfound companions Liam, Verde, and Howser the Bull Knight at his side -- has (rather surprisingly) become the leader of the small, down-on-its-luck kingdom of Alpoko.

With his newfound powers of persuasion, the little boy began working to raise Alpoko from the depths of obscurity and poverty into the dizzying heights of absolute power and prosperity. With Howser offering effective advice and unrestrained ambition, and the citizens of Alpoko sharing his grandiose plans (whether they want to or not), the little boy marches ever onward to his ultimate goal of World Domination!

Initially released for Wii to rave reviews, this cult classic real-time strategy game juxtaposes cutesy fairytale visuals with some decidedly adult cynicism for a zany, irreverent adventure to build, enhance, and maintain a mystical, magical kingdom. Making its way to PC for the first time, this edition of the game remains faithful to the Wii original, but brings all its charming, sassy fun to a new audience. I don't know what all the fuss about this being a bad port is about, but I have had no problems whatsoever with the game. I tried running it at 30 and 60 fps lock without problems, the only thing that is noticeable is a slight stutter when going through some of the different zones of the game but it not game-breaking so I don't even consider this as a problem.
If you enjoy this kind of games you should totally buy it, and playing it after a long time I had my eyes on it didn't leave me unsatisfied, the game is actually very fun.

If you are worried you might run into some of the problems the other reviews mention, you could always try out the game on your machine and then ask for a refund if you're not happy with it.. Somebody bound the FrameRate to the game's logic.... To make matters worse the game can't even handle a consistent framerate if there are more than 5 people in the loaded region.. Absolutely adore this game! So underrated and so much fun. If you like pikmin or RTS you will love this game. Boss battles are all different and EPIC. Game is long and rewarding with different ways to achieve the end goal. This is an HD remake and the game looks great. There are a few stutter moments with frame rate, but there will probably be a fix soon.. This game is so wonderfully weird. I played it as a kid and was terrified of what I now consider its charm. Wonderful tactics, great expansion, and a very fun gameloop. I've encountered a few issues, but none that have substantially inhibited my gameplay. $20 is a bit of an asking price for what amounts to an HD version of a Wii game, but I paid full price and feel very satisfied. 8/10.. me who has beaten this game the wii multiple times on hard: OH THIS GAMES ON STEAM, YESSSSS!!!!!.

Loved this game on the wii, was one of my all time favourite games. much of the music and sounds are missing, and the game asked for me to press the 'A' button to start. theyve literally put the wii version onto pc! Do yourself a favour, if this game looks good and you want to play it, buy it on wii, its worth it.. Game runs a little better than my old rom I had of the game. Doesnt seem to stutter. Plays fine overall at 30 fps. Except for random crashes and no autosave. Should you buy it? Yea, but on sale.
