About This Game

Hey ladies, I’m back in business! My new adventure, Leisure Suit Larry - Wet Dreams Don’t Dry, takes me – whatever the route or twist of fate – from the end of the ’80s directly into the 21st century and wow, how the world has changed! While my view of the world and women from way back in the 1980s collides with modern reality harder than the breasts of a lusciously stacked blonde jogging along a beach, I’m all set to date my way across the modern world!

In a “point & click” adventure I’d call typical for the genre we mutually experience how I fall head-over-heels in love with Faith, the hot-to-trot assistant to the boss at Prune, a technology enterprise successful worldwide. Since even dating is done digitally nowadays, the first thing I have to do is to work on my score at Timber, the totally hip, can’t-get-anywhere-without-it dating app where I date women, satisfy their needs, and accordingly pick up points for my Timber profile. And whenever I get a chance in between, always briefly check out a few new bikini pix at Instacrap – the 21st century is gnarly smill!

Not a bad addition to the Leisure Suit Larry franchise, a bit of nostalgia for fans and plenty of pop culture references for new comers.

The game play is straight point and click adventure, find object, fit object, chose the right dialogue. That’s pretty much the extent of the puzzles. Some of the newer adventure games these days have some “out there” puzzles that are so random you would have no idea how to proceed without a walk-though. Not too hard in this game though, I was only stumped once where I had to look up a clue and it still made sense (I admit I would have never figured out. It was clever though).

This game shines through the art design and voice acting, they even brought back the original actor from the old games to play Larry AFTER launch! I remember watching the trailer and being put off by whoever the new guy was. But they have done a great job in keeping the story flowing at a steady pace that offers a giggle here and there.

BE WARNED! Even though I will thumb this up as it is a worthy game for any Larry/point and click fan, the price is outrageous! At the time I wrote this the price tag was $42.95 AUD. I love these types of games and even I can admit that they hold little replay value. And this one in particular only took me 8 hours! Get it on sale, I recommend no more than $15 AUD at the most.. Finally a great Larry Adventure. It's funny and it's hot... You know what i mean ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). Safe to say that this game is funny as hell.... if you like the larryiies.. Pros:
-Gameplay: If you're a fan Al Lowe's point and click games, then this game by Assemble Entertainment will make you happy. It stays true to the original in terms of how items are executed, merged, picked up. How you interact with characters work fine as well.
-Comedy- The jokes don't always land, but if you're a fan of the original, then you'll be happy with it. Some of the jokes include things like Tinder dating, Siri, San Fransisco's housing market, Donald Trump, Apple, etc.
-Sound: Music and Voice actors are top notch in the game. Definitely a pleasure to listen to.
-Animation: The 2d animation moves well. Nothing great but not enough to hurt the game.
-No Micro Tranaction: I think there's one joke about it in the game, but yes, this game does not have any predatory game practices. Thanks CrazyBunch and Assemble Entertainment for this.

Cons:
-No Sex: I understand the franchis isn't about it, but after playing the game House Party by Eek Games, this feels way more PG friendly than I like it to be. I wish this would move forward to more mature content like nudity, sexual transactions, sex gameplay, etc. Instead we get some censorship, a ton of tease, and almost no payoff. Phyallic objects are why it gets the nudity label. It's a game that heavily relies on its crued comedy and not the mature content.
-Story: The basics of the story is that you're after this woman named Faith, a top exec from Prune. Why? I don't know. I'm not even sure there's a joke behind Larry's obsession for Faith. I don't want to talk about Larry's time jump because that is never fully explained.. ever. The story comes off as linear and ends with no payoff.
-Characters- The people of New Lost Wages are one dimensional characters of the stereotypes they represents. Once Larry progresses to a certain point with them, they completely disappear from the story.
-Art: This is a personal opinion. I didn't like the artistic choice of the game. From Larry's design to many of the design choices for most of the ingame charcters, it just didn't appeal to me at all. Also, it seems like the images looks less impressive the larger your screen is. Nari's design is probably the one I liked the most.
-Quest tracking- There isn't any. This hurts the game as you'll sometimes find yourself forgetting what the quest is.
-Item management- I think this could have been improved. Currently the item management is just a mess of items tracked by your PiPhone.
-Price: At 29.99 usd.. there's just not enough story, content, gameplay, etc to justify the pricetag.
-Replay value: none.
-Multiplayer: none.



At the end, I recommend the game to any fan of the series. I mean if you're here then you're likely a fan. If you're not, I don't recommend it.. I bought it because i wanted more Larry games, was not disappointed.. Very "current year" game.

Story starts pretty good, but quickly fizzles out. Many puzzles are pretty lazily executed.

Beyond randomly trying to match various items, because you gave up to make sense out of them, you get to:
- listen to Trump/wall jokes
- marry gays
- cavity search a crossdresser
- get violently sodomized

Last chapter was very rushed and made no sense.


. As a long time fan of Leisure Suit Larry games I found this one to be very enjoyable. the story could have ben longer, but the game was fun none the less.
Hope to see more Leisure Suit Larry games from CrazyBunch as they have the right idea about Leisure Suit Larry. I do hope any future games have a longer story.. Honestly if you dont enjoy rauchy stuff this isn't the game for you but, like the pervious games it bring about trends from 4 years ago and honestly its pretty refreshing and you might just get a laugh or 2 out of it
