Kylo Ren: Backstory into One of the Darkest Characters of the Star Wars Franchise

Star Wars has established itself as one of the most successful franchises over the decades in Hollywood. It all started with 1977 Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and branched into highly successful trilogies. Every story has a villain, and in the Star Wars franchise, it is Kylo Ren. The evil character was introduced in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Adam Driver portrays the role. Kylo Ren is the other name of Ben Solo, the single child of Han Solo and Princess Leia Organa.

Every villain has a backstory and gives an insight into what makes the character so evil. Kylo Ren was a force-user in the movies. Backstories provide a lot of detail but make it very difficult to connect every piece of information in the evil character’s history.

A Dark Force Bond Even Before Birth

Princess Leia Organa was well aware that her son Ben Solo (Kylo Ren) was a vital entity in the force, even before he was born. Ben had a secret force bond with Emperor Palpatine. This is the bond Palpatine used to corrupt the kid and eventually turn him into Kylo Ren. According to reports, a book title Secrets of the Jedi showcased how the Emperor corrupted Ben Solo.

According to Luke Skywalker’s character, the force bond connects two people on a completely different level. It allows them to communicate with each other, see familiar things, and feel what they exactly feel. If it is a bond between good people, then it is not a problem. But if the force bond is between the right person and someone for the dark side, then it comes in the scenario of manipulation. However, if someone is a mighty force user, then they have the power to make secret bonds and manipulate the other person who is unaware of the connection. Also, if the bond comes to light, it will be near impossible to break it.

Kylo Ren aka Ben Solo’s Troubled Childhood

Even though Ben Solo was vital in the force from an early age, his days as a child were troubled mostly because of the secret bond with Lord Palpatine. Since the relation between Han Solo and Princess Leia Organa was not a happy one, and neither of them wanted to compromise on the way they lived, Ben spent a lot of time on the Millennium Falcon (starship). Spending time on a starship might have pushed him in the direction of meeting Snoke on an unknown planet. Snoke is a being engineered by Lord Palpatine.

Kylo Ren is a fictional character in the Star Wars Universe, and his real name is Ben Solo. He is the son of Han Solo and Princess Leia Organa. Adam Driver portrays the evil character. In the Star Wars Universe, Kylo is the master of the Knights of Ren. Later on, he becomes the leader of the First Order. His character appeared in films like Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It was said that Kylo Ren is not a sith, the main antagonist in the Star Wars universe. Ren is under a commander Supreme Leader Snoke, a powerful entity present on the dark side of the force.
