I do think FIFA 21's Ultimate Team places a little too much focus on your own squad; a better player using the identical squad will beat you, but a better player with a team that is better will absolutely demolish you. With a few cards over 90 attracting prices in the millions, it does not always feel entirely fair. But building a team that is competitive is undeniably addictive, and Madden 21 coins I am not sure it'd have the same appeal if you could easily add, say, Cristiano Ronaldo to your roster.

I think what the sport needs is a better suite of modes, especially for offline play. Squad Battles was useful for me when I was learning how to play the game, but I compare it to something such as Conquest and Showdown in MLB The Show 21, and I'm far more compelled to actually use my players offline in these manners than I am to do anything in FIFA 21. There is loads EA Sports could do this, but it seems like it is put all of its attention on multiplayer, and abandoned solo drama to languish.

However, I must admit, I have gained a larger admiration for FIFA 21's gameplay I'm playing at a better standard. I still think there are some big issues; AI controlled players act strangely sometimes, and it can be infuriating when you're in an online situation and a participant will not jog to a loose ball along with your pass goes completely astray for no rhyme or reason. But I'm playing like"real football" now, and I even surprised myself how, when watching the recent Chelsea and Manchester United game at the Premier League, I was paying more attention to the roles of each player on the pitch and thinking about how I'd be handling each offensive and defensive experience.
