I too remember coloring My Hair with "kool-aid" tropical punch. I lighten my hair to an orange-gold. Dipped my hair in the "kool-aid" mixture and voila'! Bold, fun color. Until the color rinsed off and I was left with pinky-orange-red-gold hair. Oh my. I can still see my face.
You have to think about balancing all colors separately. Think about primary and secondary colors.
You want to look at what color you are seeing in your hair to correct (in your case green is the strongest color seen) and the color across from it (red) will be the closest color to neutral the unwanted tones. That formula would be a color mixed neutralizing to brownish.
Burgundy will neutralize but remember it will too fade if it is semi-permanent, semi-permanent, or temporary color formulas. So you may need to apply color (s) a few times to neutralize for longer than 10 shampoos.
