On Your Browser

The steps to enable or disable the subtitles for Disney+ on the web browser are:

Open any browser and visit the Disney+ website.
Find a show or a movie and begin playing.
Tap on the ‘Language Controls’ icon in the top-right corner of the window.
An ‘Audio’ and ‘Subtitles’ menu will open.
Note: The subtitles are off by default.

Select the language in which you want the subtitles to appear under the ‘Subtitles’ section.
In case you want to disable the subtitles, select the ‘Off’ option under the ‘Subtitles’ section.
On iPhone, iPad, or Android Devices

The steps to enable or disable the subtitles for Disney+ on iPhone, iPad, or Android devices are:

Launch the Disney+ application on your smartphone.
Play any show or a movie.
Click on the ‘Language Controls’ icon in the top-right corner.
Select the language of the subtitles.
Click on the ‘Off’ button under the ‘Subtitles’ section to disable the same.
On Other Platforms

Enabling or disabling the subtitles for Disney+ on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 is very similar to the methods mentioned above. All you have to do is access the ‘Language Controls’ option while playing the video, and you’re aware of the rest.

However, if you’re streaming on an Apple TV, the menu will appear by swiping down with the help of your remote.

How to Customize Subtitles on Disney+?

Customizing subtitles on a streaming platform sounds fun. Well, stop imagining and start doing because Disney+ enables you to customize the subtitles by changing their font, color, etc.

Unluckily, the action is only possible if you’re using your web browser to stream. However, if you want to customize the captions, the steps for the same are:

Visit the Disney+ website and begin playing a video.
Click on the ‘Language Controls’ icon on the top-right corner.
An ‘Audio’ and ‘Subtitles’ menu will appear.
Tap on the ‘Settings’ icon on top of the menu.
A subtitle customizing window will open. You can use the ‘Font’ drop-down menu to change the font of the subtitles. You can also change the settings for color, size, and opacity.
Font border, background color, and opacity are also customizable.
If you want to remove all the changes and get back to the regular subtitles, tap on the ‘Reset to Default’ button at the bottom.
Note: Any changes you make to the subtitles will appear at the top as a preview. Thus, you can change the settings immediately if you don’t like it.
