What the game is about:

Honey Rose: UFE tells the story of Red, a young university student with dreams of making it big at the masked fighting tournament.
She looks up to Big Blue, the current champion, and aims to meet her idol in the ring! However, she has a history of poor class attendance, and has repeatedly failed her latest classes.
This year, she made a deal with her parents: she’d either graduate, or they’d change towns. Unfortunately, the masked fighting tournament also takes place for the first time in the very town Red lives in... making it her one and only chance to make her dream come true!

Thankfully, that’s where you come in!

With your guidance, she needs to balance her studies with her training so she can bring home both the champion's belt, and her graduation.

The game is a life-management simulation, presented as a visual novel, with beat'em-up elements.

In short: some reading, a little fighting... and lots of planning!

This game is a visual novel with beat 'em up game play. Their are 6 total stats you are trying to balance, 3 classes and 3 fighting stats. You can only choose to do one thing per day from a decent amount of options. The fighting is enjoyable and all moves are available from the start, you just need to know how to do them. I liked the story and characters, nothing too disappointing/impressive.

The fighting can become tedious with the amount of times people pick fights with you. Sometimes it feels like events are too random and make it feel like the player has very little control over what happens (e.g. getting sick right before an exam, getting caught out of class when you try to meet up with your friends). The actual randomness would be less than issue if the main character acknowledged that the events where not in their control, but instead the other characters just act like my stats didn't meet the required threshold.

The game is 4:3 and I had to set it to full screen every time on startup because the setting didn't save. The UI, along with some mechanics, need more explaining. I didn't even know i could get sick. You can only see the current month of activities so you cannot really plan for events that are planned for the beginning of a month. Some of the things on the calendar aren't labeled, so you can't tell if it is a match, exam, or meet up.

I encountered a few bugs. I somehow went too far right during a fight and went off screen, i couldn't see my character so i just held left until I got back on the screen. One of the enemies during a fight just stopped reacting to getting hit so i just mashed attack until something happened. During a cut scene, the game glitched and there where 2 Big Blues on the screen for a few seconds.

Overall, I liked this game and there really isn't any reason you shouldn't give it a shot unless you don't usually like these types of games.

The game is free, and you can support it by buying one of the DLC items.. It's free and I still don't recommend it. Worst plot and dialogue ever. Honey Rose: Underdog Fighter Extraordinaire seems to be a really well made game. From a gameplay standpoint I feel like it combines positive aspects of visual novels and adventure games but also throws in some 2D fighting and that, at least in my opinion works out great for the game. I enjoyed not only the art and music but also the animations, everything feels really well done, I was honestly surprised the game was free. I recommend to anyone who is a fan of VNs or indie adventure games.. The game is in 4:3. And the speech text is sooo small. And somewhy it is in the little box in the corner... Leading a double life, Red a.k.a. Honey Rose, is a university student who's also moonlighting as a wannabe fighting champion. Places must balance their time between keeping grades up and winning matches to both graduate and make it to the main event against 'Big Blue'.

Primarily a visual novel, this game focuses on decision making and narrative beats with the (weaker) fighting mechanics as a background event. The characters are well written, with Red often breaking the forth wall, in the Squirrel Girl style, which may turn off some players.. I was really impressed with this game. The fighter game aspect makes for an interesting take on the VN\/life management genre. Stat-building, etc. in these kinds of games can get pretty montonous sometimes, but I think the wrestling matches in Honey do a good job of breaking it up enough so it doesn't feel that way. The writing is engaging, well-developed, and funny. And of course the beautiful hand-drawn animation is the icing on the cake. You can tell a lot of love went into the development. Definitely recommend this one!. The stupid Steam can't let me select English comment.
I've played half a day and it says 1 min.
The design and idea is good, the text seems not playing important role in the game, so I skiped them, and seems it is very very boring, and sometimes its English is difficult to understand, maybe it's French English.
It's very boring, as you repeat and repeat your routine.
