Google Chrome is not responding / not working
Most likely, you are one of the people who uses Google Chrome as the default browser.
But the popularity comes with many complaints. And unresponsive Google Chrome instances are not uncommon.
From malware and corruption to problematic extensions or browser versions, anything can make Chrome not work.
But do not worry! If Chrome is not responding, this complete guide contains the keys to fix it.
Instead of fixing problems with Chrome, you can try a better browser: Opera
You deserve a better browser! 350 million people use Opera on a daily basis, a complete browsing experience that comes with several built-in packages, increased resource consumption, and excellent design.
This is what Opera can do:
Easy migration: use the Opera wizard to transfer existing data such as bookmarks, passwords, etc.
Optimize resource usage - your RAM is used more efficiently than Chrome
Enhanced Privacy - Built-in Unlimited Free VPN
Ad-free - Built-in ad blocker speeds up page loading and protects against data mining
Download Opera
Google Chrome is the most popular browser in the world, but this does not mean that it is 100% error free. Therefore, the instances of Google Chrome that are not responding are not as rare as it seems.
What steps have you taken to fix Chrome won't open?
Have you tried to fix this problem by:
Killing the Chrome process from the task manager (if this just happened).
You ran the malware scan.
Rebooted multiple times.
Completely reset Google Chrome.
Chrome reinstalled?
I tried to open in safe mode.
But all the above solution not working? Then you are in the right place. (If you haven't tried the above solutions, try them before continuing below)
Why won't Google Chrome open?
If you have followed all the steps above but still can't start or Google Chrome only opens once and never again. This means that your browser is affected by some malware or there is a third-party program preventing it from opening.
This may be due to an antivirus, a third-party firewall, a firewall installed by an antivirus, OR you have installed such a program that is causing a problem.
Basically in such cases the ownership of Google Chrome changed and you cannot launch it from your user account.
As mentioned on the Google Chrome support page, there are 3 programs that can cause this problem.

Try the Chrome Beta channel
It is a good practice to keep automatic updates turned on to ensure that users get the latest updates and security fixes in Chrome. However, since Chrome's update cycle is frequent, Google recommends that app owners try the Chrome Beta Channel. You may also want to consider targeting a beta user group for user feedback.
Chrome troubleshooting
If you run into a problem in the Chrome browser, here are some tips on how to fix it. You can start by asking a few key questions:
Chrome has problems, but works correctly in an incognito window?
It could be an extension problem. If possible, try disabling all extensions and test each one to identify the troublemaker.
It could also be a cache / cookie issue. Clear your cache and cookies and restart your browser. This will help with any app health issues.
If so, it is most likely not a Chrome specific issue.
If it is a problem with a certain site, you should consider contacting the developer to fix the problem. If it is multiple sites, this could be a network problem.
