Its a case report of a 65 year old lady who was suffering from pyorrhea and loose, painful teeth in upper jaw. She wanted a permanent treatment for this. Best treatment option for her was removal of loose teeth and replace them with new fixed teeth on dental implants. Here the major problem was lack of bone in upper jaw to place dental implant. She lost her jaw bone due to pyorrhea. We now had three options. Option one was to remove all teeth and than later on give her a removable denture. but she was not willing for removable denture! Option two was to make more bone in upper jaw to place dental implants , that is known as bone grafting! Problem with bone grafting is that procedure takes at least 6 month to 1 year to develop a new bone. additionally there are also always chances of infection and bone graft failure . Bone grafting is a costly procedure also. Option 3 was to utilize whatever bone available at current condition , without bone grafting, with the help of special dental implants known as Zygomatic implants and Pterygoid implants. Because of these special implants it was possible to give her fixed new teeth in upper jaw with out bone grafting on Zygomatic and Pterygoid implants at Mittal Denatl Clinic, Jaipur, India . - zyagomatic implant in india

So this report demonstrate that even if you have defecient bone in upper jaw to place conventional dental implants, its possible to give fixed new teeth on Zygomatic and Pterygoid implants, without needing bone grafting or without waiting!
