FDA MAY LIMIT E-CIG SALES IN CONVENIENCE STORES
Scott Gottlieb, the commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently said regulators are considering prohibiting some cheap vape deals sales in convenience stores and confining them to vape shops

According to the Scott Gottlieb, e-cigarette use among high school students was up 77 percent last year citing preliminary figures from the federal Youth Tobacco Survey. Middle school use was up about 50 percent last year, he said. Gottlieb has called these levels "epidemic."

He added that many teens are illegally buying e-cigarettes in convenience stores. As a way to solve this issue, Gottlieb said regulators could limit the sale of flavored e-cigarette products to vape shops only.

"We're looking at what can be sold in brick-and-mortar stores and whether or not flavored products can be sold in regular stores like a 7-Eleven and a truck stop and a gas station, or whether or not flavored products on the market should be confined to adult vaping shops, which generally tend to do a better job of checking ID," Gottlieb said.
