Exemestane Dosage
Adjuvant treatment of postmenopausal women with estrogen-receptor positive early breast cancer who have received two to three years of tamoxifen and are switched to exemestane dosage for completion of a total of five consecutive years of adjuvant hormonal therapy.
-Treatment of advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women whose disease has progressed following tamoxifen therapy.
Patients taking exemestane with a potent CYP450 3A4 inducer such as rifampin or phenytoin: 50 mg once a day after a meal
Safety and efficacy have not been established in patients younger than 18 years of age.Consult WARNINGS section for additional precautions.
-Bone mineral density (BMD) in women with or at risk of developing osteoporosis
-Exemestane may cause dizziness, asthenia, and somnolence. Patients should avoid driving or operating machinery if they experience these adverse effects.
