The electric roller is divided into internal electric roller and external electric roller. The main difference is that the built-in electric roller motor is installed inside the roller, and the external electric roller motor is installed outside the roller and rigidly connected with the roller.

The built-in electric roller motor has poor heat dissipation, and is generally used in the ultrafine vertical mill with power less than 30kW and length less than 150m.

The external electric roller motor has good heat dissipation, and is generally used in the ultrafine vertical mill with power less than 45KW and length less than 150m.

Advantages: compact structure, low maintenance cost, high reliability, driving device and transmission roller into one.

Disadvantages: poor soft start performance, great impact on the power grid when the motor starts. The reliability is worse than Y-type motor + coupling + reducer.
