About This Game

Enter Drowsy Valley, a small remote tourist town located in the Alps of Austria. A place which bustles with life during summer and depopulates during winter. However, this ordinary and sometimes gloomy city harbours a secret. The people of Drowsy Valley suffer from severe sleep disorders and vivid nightmares.

The local physician are powerless against this ailment and when a young girl named Sandra, the daughter of city’s mayor, falls into a coma the head of the city decides to enlist the aid of a special psychiatrist. She is rumoured to possess a unique ability to enter and traverse people’s subconscious minds – a Dreamwalker.

Step into the shoes of the paranormal psychiatrist and immerse yourself in the mystery of Drowsy Valley. I can't recommend this game at full price. It's not the worst experience in the world, but I feel like it isn't exactly what's advertised. I thought it was going to be just a slightly spooky hidden object game, but it's more of a point-and-click that has a few lazy hidden object sections. Usually the objects in the game are obvious and contrast with the setting a bit, so it feels like you're cleaning up a mess rather than finding hidden objects. The game doesn't take full advantage of the platform it is on; there's no reason that they couldn't provide something along the lines of a dictionary or thesaurus for the hidden object section, since they use weird regional terms for items that people from another English-speaking country or region might not recognize. I do have to give them some credit for trying to change it up; some of the hidden object sections use a silhouette of the item, rather than just the item's name, for example. But the hidden object sections were lackluster and disappointing, and the game's overarching point-and-click style adventure was pretty basic and not entirely intuitive.

The actual plot of the game is decent, nothing exciting but I didn't expect a groundbreaking story from a cheap-ish hidden object game. There are enough twists and turns to give you something to think about, but no real deep themes. The voice acting is painful, but again, for the price I was just surprised to see voice acting at all.

I would have enjoyed this game for $5 or less, but at the price point of $15 you are really wasting your money.
