In Sonic Riders, Dr. Eggman challenges Sonic and his friends to a Worldwide Grand Prix, and the prize for coming out on top is an ultra-rare Chaos Emerald! Gliding on air boards - which are performance-oriented for each playable character - gamers will experience a heightened sense of sports-style racing tension as Sonic and his pals perform tricks and stunts over treacherous wide-open terrain. Sonic and friends speed through tracks on air boards, using individual special moves to strike down opponents. Air is a big element of Sonic Riders. Your board's "fuel" source is air. You can fill up your air at various points on the course, but to race well you'll have to use another means of replenishment: performing tricks with your board. You'll also want to make use of turbulence from racers who are in front of you.
This is by far the best Sonic racing game yet. This is also one of the best company mascot racers as well and certainly one that is not a Mario Kart knockoff*coughCrashTagTeamRacingcough*. Sega finally brings us a game that brings back a true speed based Sonic game. The game offers a variety of characters, some we've known and loved, like Sonic and Knuckles, and some brand new faces, like the Babylon Rouges. This game is a solid multiplayer title that any Sonic fan will love. As a treat for hardcore Sonic fans, Sega brought back three old favourites from their older games as hidden unlockables, AiAi from Super Monkey Ball, NiGHTS from NiGHTS into Dreams..., and Ulala from Space Channel 5. This game will please all who play it and surely will not let you down.
I'm sorry, really I am but what is so great about this game? It's dull and boring and jet has a stupid voice.

if i wanted to play a racing game, i'd play a fun one like Mario Kart Double Dash.

this game is very repetitive and has a weak storyline. not to mention that the life is totally sucked out of the characters that we know and love.

I was so disappointed. I was expecting that Sega would make a comeback with a gripping adventure game for the 15th sonic anniversary, after the disaster of Shadow having a gun.

Let's just hope Sonic next-gen is better.
