The Chinese company Davinci Dynamics presented its new one DC100 electric motorcycle. It is a very particular model both from the design point of view and from the technical one, the result of a work that it lasted a good 7 years. The manufacturer describes this vehicle as a sort of “robot on two wheels“because of the many sensors available, which are used to make driving pleasant and above all safe in all conditions. The bike is able to detect information such as ambient temperature, lean angle, speed, acceleration, load, type of terrain and any difference between wheel speeds. This data is used to precisely manage power delivery to ensure optimum performance at all times. In this way, people can count on an easy and safe driving experience.

Among the advanced functions we mention the Hill-start Assist Control which facilitates hill starts, the Ride Assist which allows you to move the bike up to 7 km / h to make starts smoother, the Downhill Assist Control which adjusts the downhill speed to optimize both balance and energy recovery, reverse assist, traction control and combined braking.

The bike supports the OTA updates. This means that its features can be improved and increased. In the future, the self-balancing function which will allow you to maintain balance even without the driver. A solution already seen in some advanced prototypes but not on a bike that should arrive on the market. Indeed, the manufacturer speaks of the possibility that the bike can follow its driver alone while moving on foot.
There is also a handy app that allows you to manage the electric motorcycle remotely and be used as a digital key. Speaking of technical specifications, the electric motor mounted directly on the rear wheel is in capable of delivering 100.75 kW with 850 Nm of torque. To feed it a 17.7 kWh battery which can also be recharged in direct current. (here the difference between kW and kWh) The Chinese manufacturer speaks of 15 minutes to reach 85% of the capacity. There maximum speed is 200 km / h, while to go from 0 to 100 km / h it would take just over 3 seconds. The autonomy is impressive. The brand claims about 357 km according to the WLTP cycle (400 km NEDC).

The bike can already be ordered. The price for the European market is 26,000 euros. The reservation requires a deposit of 150 euros. Shipments are expected to start in July 2022. Price aside, specs are almost “unbelievable” given what other electric bikes offer today. It will be interesting to find out if this model will keep all its promises.

Davinci Dynamics also unveiled a naked version of the DC100 called DC Classic, assembled by hand and made in a limited series (50 units). It has some sophisticated solutions such as Öhlins front suspension, Brembo brake calipers, leather saddle and several custom parts. The powertrain specifications are always the same as the DC100. The price? 78,000 euros with shipments that should start in April 2022.
