Coleen Rooney Says She's 'Got To Live With' Husband Wayne's Mistakes

Coleen Rooney has opened up about 'living with' the mistakes of her husband, Wayne Rooney.

Coleen met Wayne when she was just 12, as the couple went to the same school. They began dating when they both turned 16 and have since had four sons together – Kai Wayne, Klay Anthony, Kit Joseph and Cass Mac.

However, the former England and Manchester United star has found himself under the spotlight on numerous occasions following incidents involving alcohol and other women.

In 2018, the 36-year-old - who has previously admitted to visiting prostitutes - was ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid community work after being at nearly three times the legal drink drive limit while at the wheel of another woman's car following a night out.

And in the new Amazon documentary, Rooney, Coleen has opened up about why she vowed to make the marriage work despite such episodes.

The 35-year-old said: "When you're making those decisions you've got to focus on what you want and not what else.

"Obviously, I listen to the people who matter to me – my mum and dad and they've always given me a positive outlook on things and there's nothing that we can't deal with.

"Hopefully he's learnt and he doesn't get himself into any of them horrible situations again.

"But it's happened and I've got to live with it and if I couldn’t cope with living with it I would have ended the relationship."

She added that she had 'moved on' from previous incidents that had happened at a different stage of their lives.

"It's not acceptable what he's done, but it's happened and that was in the stage of life we were in at the time but we've moved on," she said.

"I forgive him but it wasn't acceptable. If it comes up, we'd talk about it like we're talking about it now.

"I haven't got the anger I did at the time."

Coleen then said it's 'not a good thing' for the Derby County manager to be unsupervised and he admitted to making 'bad decisions'.

He said: "I put myself in the wrong place and when you're in the wrong place and there's alcohol involved then you're going to make bad decisions and you're going to have to suffer and deal with the consequences.

"That's what happens."

He continued: "When these things have happened we've sat down and I've explained what happened. And it's not nice. It's not a nice thing to have to do.

"It won't happen again and I don't want it to happen again.

"For us to get through it, it's tough. Tough days, weeks, tough months. But I feel we've been through hard times and it does make you stronger as well."
