I think that I've been spoiled when it comes to Choice games. This game isn't bad on it's own, but when compared to other options it simply falls flat. I often felt a bit railroaded, and that my choices only barely mattered. When the game ended I thought I was only halfway through it, and the ending scene was entirely underwhelming. All in all, kind of a disappointing game.. I loved this game. It's somewhere between reading a can't-put-it-down book and playing an RPG. I hate reading books, but Choice of the Pirate (and all the other "Choice" games I've played) is way better. This one was particularly well-written, had good romance options, and really captured the swashbuckling adventure spirit.. This has got to be the best "Choice of" game I've had the pleasure of playing. It goes by pretty fast, but it's offered the most in-character and fun experience of playing one of my constant characters I've ever had. If you like pirates, the sea, or anything related- 10/10, best game, exact right amount of water.. A terrific little game with a fun and very well-designed branching narrative, delightful characters, and an intriguing overarching plot. There's an admirable commitment to diversity throughout, as well. Best of all, it's short, which means seeing all the branches isn't some eighty-hour commitment. I do wish there was more of it, but for the price and the likely minuscule development budget, it's quite impressive.

I've beaten it twice so far, and I'll be coming back for more. Highly recommended.. Fun, clever little story with a lot of options and different directions you can go in. Very enjoyable.

I very much enjoyed being able to choose my character and their romantic interests with at least some degree of precision, then have the story respect that choice (instead of just swapping out character names and pronouns to approximate it).

That said, $4 is about the right price for this game; that's about what I'd expect to pay for a short novel, and it's good for the 2-3 times I'll probably actually end up reading it. Much more expensive than that would be silly.. Fun, clever little story with a lot of options and different directions you can go in. Very enjoyable.
