It's the game that basically launched the 'endless runner' genre, and is still better than 99% of the genre. This despite its inception being way back in 2009.
It's also a beautiful minimalist game-art showpiece, mixing a low-fi Matrix meets John Woo-during-an-alien-invasion feel.
Great game, and like other instant classics (Tetris, Super Hexagon) has the inevitable 'just one more time' grip that will keep you coming back again and again.. For maximum awesome use headphones.

Canabalt should win the VR category because, even though the graphics aren't too realistic (even on 3D), the adrenaline of the chase is for real.. I loved the flash version and i'm really happy to see it on steam. I am loving the new 3D mode and all the different kind of runs make it a game with a good variety.
But, I would like something to be changed. Instead of having randomized characters to play as, you should be able to unlock a new character once you pass a certain amount of meters on a level. But anyway, buy this game.. Excellent game simple and addictive.. Jumped out the window of the office building, ran across rooftop, and ran into a bomb. Well, at least we won't have to worry about TPS reports once the invasion is complete...
Absolute fun.. Well its an unlimited running game, what do you expect. But, what i like about this game is there are levels\/world that you can complete it, not just that, they also have an option to play the game in 3D\/2D
