About This Game

The game is made up of stages, with a puzzle on each stage and story cut-scenes in between. The game has auto-save feature in each stage so if you failed in a certain puzzle, you can try again by clicking continue.

On every stage there will be a trial phase and a battle phase. In the trial phase, the player will be given a puzzle that can be solved alone by thinking or calculating. In the next phase, which is the battle phase, the player will have a match against the AI. Battles require concentration and patience.

A good concept (being a puzzle Rpg set in a dream) at first, but just poorly executed with poor controls and dull gameplay.

3/10. Calcu-Late is a game made with RPG Maker XP. It's about a boy that wants to pass his Mathematics exam, but he has trouble studying and gets help in his dream.

This game is a pretty short game. There's about six puzzles that you do in the whole game, and that's it. The puzzles are fairly simple, but some can be frustrating for others (the rock bucket one I felt was a huge annoyance). Other than the puzzles, there's nothing else. There's not a whole lot going on in this game because of the lack of depth the game has. There's no real character development because most of them come and go through the story. There's a twist very close to the end and at the very end, which neither unfold at the end. There's also another scene if you beat the game on Hard or higher, but I didn't bother to play the game a second time to see it. The art looks fine and decently thought out, but that's about as much positivity it has.

Overall, this game isn't worth your money. You can find free RPG Maker games online to download and try. Everything bad 1 / 10. Small nice game. I had a free hour and wanted to end sth fast. I skipped the intro and all the conversation. Cant tell anything about the plot. The puzzles are not very demanding. Or maybe I was lucky. Played the normal mode. And it was not hard task. Except the final puzzle. Good one. Tough one. I had no time to play any more and needed to search for hints. Now I know how to win but need to understand the rules.
Positive review - for making the puzzle with an easy solution which I could not figure out mysel (fast :)
