If you understand the way the Dofus match is coded (its quite bizarre, best way to explain would be DnD dice roll style) and download the resources to host a personal host, you can do it yourself.

So they can do those things. It is just that a good deal of things, like server transport do not exist on Dofus retro because the technology was not developed there. They can rebuild the code to get it done, but it is going to be much more difficult to do due to the way Dofus styled is organised. Which is 1 reason they switched to Dofus 2.0, rebuilt it with the future in mind.
