Apex Legends has a
Apex Legends coins variety of legendary items besides just hero skins. Legendary weapon skins, banners, and finishers, mainly, so what that means is that landing a skin through the game’s loot box system is incredibly hard. In probably 140 loot boxes, both earned and paid, I’ve only gotten three legendary character skins, and only enough materials to craft one more. That’s…not amazing when you compare that to say, an Overwatch event where 100 loot boxes will get me probably 8-9 new legendary skins and enough credits to craft 2-3 more.
And then there’s the quality of the skins. In Apex Legends, common skins are recolors of the base skin, rare skins add a pattern to the base skins, epic skins have a moving animated pattern on the base skin (and often look worse than rare skins). Only once you reach Legendary do you actually move on from the base skin itself, but what is considered
Legendary” design in Apex would probably be no more than an Epic in most cases in Overwatch, or Epic or Rare in Fortnite. In those games, when you see a Legendary skin, it’s a showstopper. But to me, the only ones I’d put in that category in Apex are maybe one Caustic skin (the black/gold warlord one) and one Wraith skin (the bald one that makes her look
like Jack from Mass Effect Apex Legends Items And if you want those? You have to get insanely lucky through drops, or you have to wait for the store to change which only is showcasing a single legendary skin a week (and many legendary skins are just recolorings of themselves, something Overwatch eventually realized it needed to do away with).
